Calendar

Our Hardley Runners Calendar includes most of the events Hardley Runners are likely to enter.  If there's anything you'd like added please ask Tamsin Roberts who keeps the calendar up to date.

You can show week, month or just the days with something on using the tabs on the top right.  And the little drop down arrow to the right of the tabs enables you to show/hide public holidays.  Click on an event to read more about it.  Event details can change so please always check websites for final details.  And if you find something that's incorrect please let us know so we can update the entry.

The Triple Whammy - Saturday 28 April 2018

The Hurstbourne Tarrant 5 is a challenging five mile race with bluebells in the heart of the beautiful North Wessex Downs, starting in the village of Hurstbourne Tarrant and following part of the Test Way through woods and farmland. The course is completely off-road, taking in rural footpaths, woodland tracks and a couple of "undulations".

You can just do the HBT5 and boast that another 20 metres of hills and it would be an official fell race. Or you can accept the challenge and do the Triple Whammy.  Start with the Andover parkrun, then jog to Hurstbourne Tarrant, then do the HBT5. That is certain to make the bacon butties and cake seem even better.

Details are here.  And here's the HBT5 race website which includes how to enter.

If you'd like to join in please contact Jeremy Barber (see Contact Us tab above) so we can sort out logistics.

Club Championships - The Lordshill 10K - Sunday 24 June 2018

Road Race Captan, Vicki Clarke, writes, "The race we've all been hotly waiting for has finally opened it's entry list! Lordshill 10k is on June 24th at 09:30 starting at the Ordnance Survey. It's a fantastic 10k, through scenic rural Lordshill and it's surrounding areas, fairly flat with just a little cheeky hill at 7k, but a good downhill to finish. Also...we've made it our CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP event, so is definitely one to get involved in! Click here to enter.

It'll be great to see a whole host of faces there!"

The Lepe Loop 10K - Saturday 7 July 2018

You can run it, walk it or bring your dog and join the canicross start. All finishers get an awesome medal and there is a mountain of cake for all entrants, proceeds will go to The Honeypot Children's Charity located just up the road. This event takes place with the kind permission of the Exbury Estate and Lepe Country Park.

Details are on this poster  Here's how to enter and here's the race FB page

RR10 Series

RR10s are by far the most popular events with our members.  The RR10 league is a series of races organised by running clubs in south-west Hampshire for their members. The races are held on Wednesday evenings during the spring and summer.  Entry is free for full members. All of the races are 4-5 miles off-road. The standard of runners varies from 5-minute milers to 12+ minute milers so, however fast you are, there will always be someone to compete with or just enjoy a run together if that's what you prefer. The only requirement is to wear a Hardley vest on the night and there are usually some for sale at the race for £12, so please do give the series a try. There is usually a lift share from the Applemore car park.

The league has become very popular with record numbers attending so for the 2016 season onwards there have been some minor changes to accommodate more people.  There will be 11 races with each club dropping out on one so each club will take part in 10 races including one as organiser as at present.

Every runner will still have nine races to compete in, of which their best six will count for the league position, as in previous years.

Please do not attend our drop out race as a spectator!

Cross Country

There are two main series of events where we field teams - the CC6s and the Hampshire League.

CC6

CC6 Captain, Simon Ibbotson, writes, "The CC6s are now a series of 8 races held over the winter period on cross country courses (lots of lovely mud :-) ). Each course is between 4 and 5 miles (most around 4.5 miles) and is hosted by one or more clubs so that everyone is able to run 7 out of the 8 races. They are free for club members and the only requirement is that you run in club colours, please contact me if you need a Hardley Vest or T-Shirt.

I will email you leading up to each event with more information on courses, conditions, etc.  I will also be emailing to ask for your help with the marshaling and setting up of our own race at Dibden Inclosure on 5th November.   The CC6s are always great fun and I will hopefully see many of you there. Please note that as parking can be very limited at these venues I would like to request that you try to car share wherever possible, thank you."

You can find out more about these races by visiting the CC6 website (see links page).  The 2017/18 fixture list is below. All races start at 9.30am.

FFFK Series at Boscombe

Fast, Flat, Five Kilometres fortnightly on Fridays, this is a good run to get a fast 5km time. Or if you’re just starting on your running journey you can avoid those pesky hills and get carried along by the other runners

The course is ‘out and back’ from Boscombe Pier towards Southbourne whichis is closed to vehicles keeping you a little safer during the race.

You can stroll, jog, run or sprint, it’s your gig. However, once you receive your finishing time you’ll find it addictive to ‘chip away’ at it fortnightly. You won’t always feel up to aiming for a PB so take it as a fun run with friends and family.

Magic Miles

Our friends at Lordshill Road Runners have a series of timed mile events open to members of other clubs.  You need to register and get a barcode, a process which is simple and which will be familiar to parkrunners.  The events are on Southampton Common starting near the Cowherds at 6.30pm.

You can read more about the events and register here.

Cycling Time Trials

We are affiliated to Cycling Time Trials which allows any of our members to take part in both local Club Time Trials and Open events. From March to September there is a full programme of local events which cost c£3 to enter on the day.
