Exbury10K

The Exbury 10K is a flat and fast circular course run over country lanes which starts and finishes at Exbury Gardens, taking in spectacular views of the Solent and includes approximately 500 metres of beach front running on the foreshore path at Lepe Beach. Note the start is at an altitude of about 20 metres. The course goes gently down to Lepe which is at sea level and then back up to the start so maybe it is not exactly flat but it's pretty flat.

What a lovely morning. Thanks everyone, whether marshals or runners, for turning out and making it such a great event. Runners came from far and wide. Particular mention goes to our Dutch regulars Jolanda in the main race and Ella in the Fun Run.

Background info from before the race

Your feedback was so good that we've decided to do it again. As well as our scenic 10Kwe are repeating the fun run in the gardens.

All entries include free entry to the beautiful Exbury Gardens.

Excellent refreshments are available at Mr Eddy's Tearoom.

Route change

The recent storms have washed away the path along the Lepe foreshore and it is now impossible to run along this part of the Exbury 10K route. We have considered other route options, but the path conditions are not fit for running in mass groups. It has therefore been decided that the Exbury 10K will now be a 5 mile race. It will be an accurately measured course with mile markers.

This is very disappointing for all concerned, but obviously safety to participants must come first. Please don't let this put you off entering. It will still be the fun and friendly event, just a bit shorter.

Background information

List of entrants. The date the list was compiled is shown at the top. It is an Excel spreadsheet so you can sort it to your heart's content. Please note the list is prepared and published by real people. It is not automatic so you won't appear on it as soon as you enter. If the date at the top is more than a couple of days after you entered then please feel free to contact us if you are not on it.
Instructions to competitors This is last year's sheet but the same information applies this year. We won't be sending out numbers and chips in advance; you'll need to collect them between 8.15 and 9.15 from Mr Eddy's tearoom. Please do not arrive earlier than 8.15 as we won't be ready! The car park is close to the start and chip pick up so you'll have plenty of time.
